HOW TO CARE FOR LEATHER AND CANVAS

Need advice on leather and canvas care? To remove a stain, there are several steps you need to know. On this page, we explain how to clean and care for your bags and small leather goods.

HOW TO CARE FOR LEATHER BAGS, CARD HOLDERS, PASSPORT HOLDERS AND AIRPOD CASES?

FARET products are designed to last with only top-quality materials chosen by craftsmen who are the guardians of a legacy of expertise. We recommend keeping the bag away from heat sources and avoiding contact with greasy products, cosmetics, perfumes or hydroalcoholic solutions. Our leathers are simply maintained with colorless or lightly tinted shoe polish.

DO YOU HAVE TO DO LEATHER CARE VERY REGULARLY?

There’s no need for daily leather care, except in the case of specific stains. A stain should always be removed as quickly as possible.

HOW DO I STORE MY LEATHER AND CANVAS BAG IN MY DRESSING ROOM?

Your items should be stored in a dry place. It is not recommended to stack your leather goods on top of each other, as they may become misshapen. To keep your bag intact when you’re not using it, stuff it with paper to keep its shape and lay it flat on a shelf.

WHAT IF MY BAG GETS WET?

If your bag gets wet, wipe it dry and let it air-dry. Keep it away from heat sources.

HOW DO I CARE FOR THE FABRIC OF A BICYCLE BAG OR PANNIER?

Made exclusively from natural fibers, FARET’s select canvas is water-repellent. To maintain it, we recommend regular dusting.

HOW DO I REMOVE A STAIN FROM THE CANVAS OF A BAG?

If a stain is present on the canvas, simply rub it gently with soap and water, then rinse. If the canvas has come into contact with a greasy substance, you can sprinkle a little “terre de sommières” or a natural stain remover on the stain. This operation can be repeated if necessary.

WHERE CAN I HAVE MY BAG REPAIRED?

After diagnosis, FARET repairs its products, small leather goods and leather and canvas accessories. Contact our leather goods advisors for a personalized response.
